During the third quarter of 2025 (July 1 – September 30), the carbon capture and storage (CCS) facility at Boundary Dam Power Station achieved its second-best quarter to date, capturing a total 236,512 tonnes of CO2. This strong performance also saw the facility achieve a milestone of seven million tonnes captured. As of the end of Q3, a total of 7,095,042 tonnes captured since start up in 2014.

The CCS facility was available 91.1 per cent of the time, and while online had a daily average capture rate of 2,888 tonnes. CCS achieved 39 days of production above 3,000 tonnes per day, during the quarter, with a peak one-day capture of 3,144 tonnes.

The positive output resulted from a successful three-month overhaul of the Boundary Dam Unit 3 and capture facility. The next planned outage for CCS is currently set for May 2026.
