Utility Worker (Labourer) – Generation

  • Positions with this team are responsible for:
  • Filling temporary reassignments, like operating plant and line equipment
  • Performing construction and maintenance activities
  • Operating heavy equipment
  • Maintaining the right logs and reports

Utility Worker (Labourer) – Transmission and Distribution

  • Positions with this team are responsible for:
  • Filling temporary reassignments, performing construction and maintenance activities
  • Working on the SaskPower Transmission and Distribution system
  • Needing to move around Saskatchewan for temporary work

Ideal candidate

  • Valid Class 5 driver’s licence

The power line apprentice can get an Interprovincial Journeyperson Power Lineperson Certificate. This opportunity is a 4-year apprenticeship program.

Ideal candidates

  • Entrance requirements under the Provincial Apprenticeship and Trades Certification Standards
  • Valid Class 5 driver’s licence and ability to obtain an 1A

Positions with this team are responsible for:

  • Working under direction to operate plant boilers and associated auxiliaries
  • Helping with operations and monitoring of plant turbines, generators and associated auxiliaries
  • Carrying out inspections
  • Making corrections to help plants be more efficient
  • Keeping shift logs

Ideal candidate

  • Hold a Fourth- or Third-Class Power Engineer’s Certificate AND valid Class Licence
  • Previous experience as a Facilities Operator or equivalent
  • Valid Class 5 driver’s licence
