BD3 Status Update: December 2020

During the month of December, the Carbon Capture and Storage (CCS) facility at Boundary Dam Power Station captured 82,213 tonnes of carbon dioxide. The average daily capture rate when CCS was online was 2,724 tonnes per day with a peak one-day capture of 2,866 tonnes. The CCS facility was online 97% of the month, coming offline on the last day due to troubles in the power house. CCS produced a record amount of sulphuric acid at 2,330 tonnes for the 2020 calendar year.
