The Foxtail Grove Solar Energy Project will produce 10 megawatts (MW) of emission-free power, or enough to power about 2,500 homes, on average.

Transmission project timeline build stage

Why We’re Doing It

Our goal is to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by at least 50% from our 2005 levels by 2030. We’re working toward achieving net-zero emissions by 2050. This means we need to add more renewable energy sources. Solar power is an important part of this plan.

How We'll Build It

SaskPower has selected Kruger Energy Saskatchewan Solar to build this project. They’ll construct, own, maintain and manage the facility while selling us the power produced.

The facility will be located in northeast Regina.

Kruger Energy will work together with stakeholders throughout this project. This will help them to better understand:

  • feedback from stakeholders
  • impacts of land use
  • environmental impacts

We expect construction will be completed in the fall of 2024.
