We Want to Hear From You!

If you’re a Rightsholder or stakeholder in the area where the power line project will be constructed, we want your feedback. Share your comments with us by filling out this short 5-min feedback form.

We’re building a new power line to support additional power needed for the Foran Mining Corporation’s Mcllvenna Bay project.

The new 138-kilovolt power line will be about 80 kilometres long. It'll connect an existing line near Pelican Narrows to the site of the project, near the south end of Hanson Lake.

Project Stage: Plan, Define and Consult

Our Progress So Far

We’ve done an initial assessment and engaged with Rightsholders and stakeholders for feedback on potential line routes. The new lines will run within a new 60-metre right-of-way. Using the feedback we received from our initial engagement, we’ve narrowed those options down to a final proposed route

We’re reaching out again to Rightsholders, communities and stakeholders in the area for more feedback. We want to know how we can reduce impact as we plan and design the power line within the final route corridor. We’ll be taking feedback on:

  • general knowledge of the area, such as:
    • environmental and heritage resources
    • areas of special concern or consideration
  • concerns about the project and ways to further reduce impacts

Respecting the Local Environment

What we do today impacts our future. We’re always working hard to reduce our impact and protect the environment.

As we plan projects, we use tools like databases, satellite imagery and field surveys to understand the environment we are working in.

As projects move forward, we’ll make sure environmental protection standards are in place to reduce our impact on features like:

  • Waterbodies
  • Sensitive lands
  • Wildlife and their habitats
  • Culturally sensitive sites

We also work with the Ministry of Environment and other regulatory agencies to ensure we meet all environmental requirements.

Project Outcomes

When complete, this investment will allow us to provide safe and reliable power for the Mcllvenna Bay project.
