Are you in the Estevan area and looking for a great career? On May 3, 2016, we are hosting a job fair from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Western Star Hotel, 303 Kensington Ave, Estevan, to showcase some current and upcoming opportunities at SaskPower. We sat down with David Gwilliam, Manager, Recruitment and Diversity, to ask him why this is a must attend event for those looking for a job in the Estevan area.
  1. Who will be at the event?

SaskPower employees from Recruitment, Boundary Dam Power Station and Shand Power Station will be there to talk about job opportunities, the benefits of working for SaskPower, and to answer any other questions you may have.

  2. What are the benefits of coming to the job fair?

This is a chance to meet working professionals from SaskPower. These are people who work in the roles we are hiring for, so you'll have an opportunity to learn about the job straight from someone who knows. It's also a great opportunity to shine in person. We understand that in this job market, it can be difficult to make a great first impression on your resume alone.

  3. What positions are available?

We are recruiting industrial mechanics, electricians, instrumentation technicians, and other trades and technical roles. Also, we are always looking for 1st and 2nd class power engineers.

  4. What makes SaskPower a good place to work?

SaskPower is one of the top employers in Saskatchewan. We offer a competitive salary and benefits package, work that is meaningful, opportunity for training and development, an inclusive work environment that values individual differences, and a strong commitment to safety. We've also won a number of top employer awards in Canada.

  5. Besides job fairs, how can I learn about opportunities at SaskPower?

We post all job openings on our website. We also regularly share openings on our LinkedIn and Twitter accounts.
